Japan made my fall in love with photography again

Japan is many things, and it's no supprise to my way so many japanese love photography. Why wouldn't they!

Especially beloved by photographers because Japan offers extreme visual variety in a compact area: neon-drenched megacities, quiet temples, dramatic coastlines, and mountains can all be shot in the same day.

The coexistence of futuristic urban life and carefully preserved traditions, plus clean, walkable streets and a strong sense of order and safety, makes it easy to explore with a camera and come home with cinematic images.

This was my very first time in Japan and eventhough I researched as much as I could before hand to have some kind of expection of what I was about to experience, it still blew me away in the most posistive way.

The largest electronic store IN THE WORLD!

A few weeks before our (My girldfriend and I) trip, to my luck I read somewhere that Tokyo had the world's largest electronic store. Being the big tech geek I somehow also convinced my girlfriend to join in this 9 floor tech madhouse.

Yodobashi Akiba, is located is the Akihabara areas of Tokyo. The building with its 9 floor stand about 90 meters tall and offers almost 56.000 m².

Though the name doesn't scream electronic store to me. The giant banners for sure does!

With the combination of a weak Yen and 10% tax free discount I managed to get myself my first Canon RF lens at about half price of what it would cost me back home. One Canon 24-105 f/4 L USM lens, a couple of filters and I was good to go on this Japan adventure.

From Instagram clichés to Hidden gems

Our trip starting in Tokyo, and from their we took a day thrip that went through ALL the "cliché" photo spots around mount Fuji.

Fun fact: Mount Fuji is apprerently very camera shy, and only visible 70-80 days per year.

Were we lucky enough to see it?

NOPE!
